Vacation is over!

We really enjoyed our trip to Destin last week! The weather was great even though Hurricane Ike roughed up the surf Wed.-Fri. McKenzie got over her fear of swimming once again and by week's end was diving for coins on the bottom of the pool in 3 1/2 feet of water! The seaweed was pretty bad from Hurricane Gustav so we spent most of our week in the pool. Alexis made a miraculous turnaround from the fussiest baby to the happiest baby on earth. She would sit in her bouncy seat and watch the palm trees sway outside our balcony. (I think she takes after her Aunt Trisha!) The twice a day dose of Prevacid seems to be the solution to her problem. She smiles all the time now! McKenzie got to go to Build-A-Bear Workshop as a reward for reading 50 books this summer during the Summer Reading Program. McKenzie and Daddy rode go-carts at The Track, we played putt-putt and Mommy and McKenzie did some shopping while in Destin. McKenzie didn't want to come home on Saturday. She begged us to stay! At least we know she enjoyed her vacation! Both girls managed well in the car for 8 hours both on the way down and back, thank goodness!
