Happy 6th Birthday McKenzie!

Where has time gone? McKenzie turned 6 last Wednesday! She had 2 parties, one with her friends the weekend before at Chuck E. Cheese and one this past weekend with family. She has become quite the "little lady" who loves to get dressed up. She is doing great in Kindergarten and was named Student of the Week for the entire Kindergarten a few weeks ago. She's already getting check off on first grade sight words and reads very well. It's getting to the point where we can't spell words in front of her because she knows what we're spelling! She is also in Daisy Girl Scouts and just finished cookie sales a few weeks ago. She was the highest seller in her troop with 800 boxes of cookies sold!!! Aunt Trisha asked her how many pounds (on people) that equated to. We won't talk about how many pounds were probably gained just in our household on them. Let's just say Alexis learned a new word during all of this..."cookie!"

Alexis is a vivacious little toddler now at 22 months. It's so hard to believe she'll be two in about 6 weeks! She climbs on everything and has just started climbing and descending steps standing up rather than crawling up or down. She has really enjoyed the egg hunts we've been to our had at our house. She calls the roll every morning wanting to know "Where's sissy...Larla (Aunt Laura)...Daddy...Nena (Nana)...Sixie (Dixie- our dog)........and finally this morning she asked "Where's Us?" No she didnt' want to know where we were she wanted to know where Uncle Russ was! I told him that he finally made the cut! Alexis is always asking about "Larla."

The girls had a great Easter. McKenzie decided to "bait" the Easter Bunny by leaving a trail of carrots to our front door. Apparently it worked because all of the carrots were gone the next morning and their baskets were filled under our Easter Tree! The girls wore their Flower Girl dresses from Uncle Russ and Aunt Laura's wedding in November that were handmade by Nana.

I have been busy myself still working full time, being McKenzie's Troop Leader in Girl Scouts, delivering Girl Scout Cookies and raising money for the March of Dimes. Alexis is our county's Ambassador for the March of Dimes for 2010. We are raffling off a quilt donated by the local quilter's guild for $1 per ticket. If you are interested in making a donation to purchase a ticket please click on the link. http://www.marchforbabies.org/alexis We were so fortunate that Alexis only spent 15 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, but many aren't as fortunate. We want to do what we can to help the March of Dimes continue their research and continue supporting those parents in their time of need.
Our Little Ambassador!
