Alexis Update!

Alexis has been approved (by insurance) to receive Synagis, a vaccine for RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus). The reason we have to get insurance approval is because each injection costs over $4800. Multiply that by 6 (one each month from Oct. to March) and that comes to $28,800. Preemies are especially susceptible and can get severe cases requiring hospitalizations. She received her first shot last week. They give us digital scales to weigh her on before they come for her injection. Yes, they come to our house to administer it so we don't have to risk picking it up in the MD office! Isn't that great! Well we weighed her and she has "reversed her birth weight"...she's now 13lb. 3oz. instead of 3lb. 13oz.! She's growing so fast!
